100 posts!

This is my 100th post on this blog, thus a good opportunity to see whether it is going in the right direction.

When I started this blog, I wanted not only to get a forum for my ideas, which does not make it different from most blogs, but also use some serious economic discourse for a wide spectrum of economic issues. By wide spectrum I mean beyond the stock market and political economy, for which there are already plenty of blogs.

Some told me that running a blog can be overwhelming, especially if one wants to post on a different topic everyday. Indeed, I confirm that it takes time, but I enjoy and I do let it overtake my other responsibilities, occasionally skipping a day.

Is it a success so far? Only the reader can judge. From traffic reports and the number of comments, I conclude that this blog is still rather confidential. The fact that I post anonymously probably does not help. But there are some good quality commentators, and I hope that eventually more people will stop by. Let me reassess after the first year of operation.

This blog is required reading every day for me. I like it when you see Economics in situations that are unusual. King of like Steve Levitt, but less empirical and more theoretical. Keep it up!

I check your blog about 3-4 times a week. I agree with some things you write and disagree with others. That you post anonymously does not help. Overall, I get the impression you are a "kid" assistant professor at one of our better state schools, like say the U of Illinois or U of Michigan who is in his early 30s and is afraid to rock the boat. I went to the University of Chicago for my MBA and rubbed shoulders with Nobel Prize winners and future Nobel Prize winners. Some, like Gary Becker, awesomely smart, others, well ... As you age you may be less in awe of "big names". I've seen them produce tons of junk that would have been blasted to bits at Chicago.
Keep it up.

I read your blog most days, and most days it has good posts. I have recommended it to others, but many "do not do blogs."

Regarding independent accountant's guesses, some days I am not even sure Economic Logician is based in the States.

The Guy:
I've wondered about Economic Logician's perspective too. It seems to be that of a European, not an American. My guess, he was born in Europe, went to the LSE, got a PhD in the States, and now teaches at an American university.
